Legal Counsel

The Legal Counsel will be a key member of the GoodData legal team, reporting to the Head of Legal and working with colleagues across the company on a variety of commercial, corporate, privacy, and other matters. The Legal Counsel will manage commercial relationships with customers and vendors and will have primary responsibility for corporate and HR matters in Czechia. Due to time zone differences, flexibility in working hours is expected of the Legal Counsel, particularly in the afternoons, to facilitate communication with colleagues or clients located in the US.

The role will be a hybrid (combination of office and remote), based in Prague or Brno, and will be the senior legal employee in Czechia.

What will you do

The Legal Counsel will have a broad portfolio of duties (many shared with the Head of Legal), including:

• Initial point of contact for internal counsel on Czech corporate and HR matters.

• Contract matters:

  • Maintaining customer contract templates, playbooks, etc.

  • Reviewing and negotiating NDAs.

  • Reviewing and negotiating new customer contracts.

  • Drafting and negotiating amendments to customer contracts.

  • Reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts.

• Maintaining internal and external policies (e.g., Privacy Policy).

• Collaborating closely with the Security and Compliance team.

• Tracking the status of legal requests (JIRA).

• Supervising Legal Intern.

• Managing legal vendor relationships and user access for legal tech tools.

• Coordinating with IT and Revops on managing the website and legal-related technology (e.g., Dealhub).

You should have

• Master's Degree in Law.

• Previous experience as an in-house or law firm attorney.

• Previous experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (3+ years preferred).

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

It is nice if you have

• Experience working with international commercial contracts.

• Experience with EU/Czech HR/corporate law.

• Experience with B2B SaaS companies.

• Privacy law expertise (IAPP certification, previous work experience, etc.).

• Experience managing legal personnel (attorneys, paralegals, contract managers, etc.).
